Description | The papers have been copied from the Lord Deputy's petition book, 1637-1638 in the British Museum, London. This collection includes, for example: A copy of a petition from Margaret Gibbons, widow, about debts due for rents of the lands of Tobercor and Ballykeele, Barony of Lescale, County Down, 18 July 1637. A copy of a petition of Rose Roth, widow, about the rectory of Clonmantage and Killrush Diocese of Ossery, County Kilkenny, 27 September 1637. A copy of an explanation from Lady Ann Docwra to William FitzGerald about her late husband's property, October 1637. A copy of a petition of Margaret Goodman of Ballenblea, County Dublin, about her late husband's estate, 11 November 1637. A copy of a petition of Elenor Barnwell complaining against Richard [Damell?] and David Robinson for possession of lands in Queen's County, 22 November 1637. A copy of part of a petition of Lady Ann Docwra against Sir Thomas Rotherham for debt due, no date, c1637. |
