Collection DescriptionBL/EP/G are the estate papers generated by the Grehan family of Clonmeen, Banteer Co. Cork. After the sale of Clonmeen estate, the surviving records which form the Grehan Estate Collection today were removed by Mr. Peter A. Grehan to his residence in Co. Kerry after a short period of storage at Inch, Co. Tipperary. It was from Kerry that they were later transferred to the Boole Library, University College Cork in 1983 by Mr. Peter A. Grehan. Documents relating to and including the will of Christine Chichester, died 18 May 1951, and correspondence concerning various legacies and arrangements for her funeral and internment in Westland Row Church vault, 1950-1955. Includes:

Letters from Leo, Bishop of Northampton, concerning a legacy of £8,000 she left towards the building of Libburn Church.

Letter from includes a letter from Sister Teresa, Gallen Priory, Ferbane, Offaly, to Sister Augustine explaining that any legacy received by her would belong to the Priory under the terms of the vow of poverty. However the Reverend Mother will allow her to use the £100 she received from Christine Chicester's will to travel to Lourdes, 12 April 1951.

Also includes list of pictures and other items given by Christine Chicester to Stephen Grehan, Clonmeen, 1946, with other documents.
