Description

Volumes of Labourers' Acts Ledgers detailing the sites leased or purchased by the Rural District
Council. Records in tabular form the award and payment of compensation to the owners or occupiers of sites stating the date of the award, whether the award is granted to an owner or occupier, the name of the person given the award, the page in the Minute Book where the agreement is recorded, the
reference to the site, whether abandoned, exchanged or otherwise in the Minute Book of the Council and any authority from the Local Government Board on the subject. Details the amount of compensation awarded, the date of conveyance, date of the order for payment, the number of the order, to whom issued, the details if lodged in court, paid to a person not named in the award or if paid without a duly executed conveyance and the amount of the Payment Order. Provides particulars of the contract for the erection of cottages detailing the date of the contract, page of the Minute Book where
recorded, name and address of contractor, names and addresses of sureties, explanation for any extra expenses incurred, amount of contract, date fixed in bond for the completion of the contract, dates of certificates of Engineer, dates of Orders for Payment, to whom issued, details of payment to anyone other than the contractor or any deductions and the amount of orders. Records later dates in red ink and annotations to information are also provided in red ink. RDC/WTFD/9 is titled Labourers' Cottages Ledger but records the same manner of information as the ledgers titled Labourers' Acts Ledgers:

10 25 March 1898-31 December 1929, Labourers Cottages Rent Collection Book for Waterford Union recorded half-yearly under columns headed number of cottages, electoral division, townland, name of tenant, date of occupation, arrears brought forward, rent for half-year, total, rent paid monthly, collected and lodged, arrears, total and observations. From 31 December 1901 this information is no longer recorded, instead, the Amount due for Pipe Rent/Dunmore Water Supply is recorded for Waterford Rural District Council on a yearly basis. Details the name or situation of the property rated, a description of the property rated, name of occupier, net annual value, amount of pipe rent due, immediate lessor, amount of pipe rent collected and any vacancies of sites are stated annually. Contains annotations in red pen and blue coloured pencil.

12 1903, Land Certificate under the Local Registration of Title (Ireland) Act, 1891 Register of Freeholders, Folio 1291 for Waterford Rural District Council. States the name, address and description, nature of ownership, dates of registration and reference to instrument. Provides a description of the lands recording the number of entry, townland, barony, area, valuation, date of first registration, reference to instrument and official notes.

13 14 June 1899, Page from Financial Statement Book detailing the receipts for the Month of May 1899 stating that on 23 May 1899 œ10 of rents for labourers cottages was received from 'Edmund
Doyle' (rent collector). Signed by John Mackey, Clerk of Waterford Rural District Council.

14 25 July 1911, Copy Application for a further instalment of a loan for Waterford Rural District Council from the Local Government Board providing a schedule filled and signed by the Architect, Patrick Hearns Butlerstown, County Waterford of work carried out under the Labourers (Ireland) Act. Details the townland, reference number, number of Ordnance Sheet, amount of contract, value of works executed and remarks.
