The majority of Ulster Television [UTV] programmes from 1959 and some earlier archive footage are held on videotape and are listed on a computer database. There is a total of c. 62,376 videotapes. Searches can be conducted by the name of programme or by the name of an individual, organisation, event, subject, etc. Under the subject heading 'Women' there are 327 records. These include items from daily news and sport transmissions, as well as programmes about, or featuring, women. The following are some examples of the range of material which is available:
